We just started our fall cohort of Mat Pilates Teacher Training – one of our favorite ways to lengthen and strengthen the Miami Pilates community. It's 40 hours of training over 4 weekends, which means it's bootcamp season over here. If you want a spicy month-long burn, there's nothing like a good TT ;) 

 

'Tis the season of shopping and family dinners, so don't forget to get in your regular dose of movement. Whether it's in-app or in-studio, set an intention to stay lengthened and strengthened.

Studio News: Puppy Pilates




On Sunday, October 6th, we hosted our first Puppy Pilates event in collaboration with Wellness Woofs. We got down on the mat for 45 minutes of lengthening and strengthening – while getting cuddled, kissed, and licked by puppies. It was a crazy high-energy event with lots of zoomies and treats, with a portion of the ticket proceeds donated to the local shelter we partnered with. Psst... Form Tip


You've probably heard us say "Knit your ribs together!" or "Squeeze your abs!" in class a million times, right? Right. Wondering what we mean? Think of it like wearing a corset that’s being pulled tighter from behind. You want to imagine pulling your ribs closer together by drawing them inward and upward. Another way to picture it is bracing yourself for a punch—your natural reaction to protect your core is exactly how you should engage your abs. It’s all about creating a strong, supportive center that stabilizes your entire body!

Berry Crumble

Perfect for bringing along to Thanksgiving dinner!

Crumble Topping:

1 cup old fashioned oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

dash of salt

2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

 

Berry Filling:

4 1/2 cup frozen berries

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp vanilla extract 


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix all of the dry crumble topping ingredients together, then mix in the butter so it's chunky.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the berry filling ingredients. Pour berry filling into an 8x8 pie dish, then place the crumble on top.

  4. Bake in oven for 40-45 minutes until top is golden brown and berries are bubbling around the edges.

  5. Remove from oven and let sit for 7-10 minutes. Serve warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

  6. TIP: Fill the baking dish to the top with the berry mixture then sparingly place the crumble on top. Want to test this on yourself before Thanksgiving day? Use an individualized sized ramekin. Just lightly coat the berries with the flour, add a little sugar, salt, lemon juice and vanilla extract, then place crumble on top and bake.
