Mat Pilates in Miami: Our Approach to Strength, Longevity & Calm

Happy New Year.
I wanted to bring Mat Chat back as a quiet place to connect — a monthly note to share what’s unfolding in the studio, what we’re building, and what matters to us beyond the mat.
As we step into this new year, it felt like the right moment to reset — not by chasing trends, but by refining what already feels true.
A quiet makeover.
You may notice that the studio feels a little different lately.
We’ve leaned into what I lovingly call our Secret Garden era — softer lighting, more greenery, grounding scents, and an immediate sense of calm. This wasn’t a rebrand for novelty’s sake, but a return to the original intention behind the space.
I designed Long Lean Pilates from a very personal place. Movement helped me navigate panic attacks, and when I moved to Miami, I couldn’t find a studio that felt both challenging and calm. So I created the space I had been looking for.
Here, the lights stay low, greenery surrounds you, and class ends with a moment to reset your nervous system. Your abs and glutes may be sore on the way out — but you should leave feeling grounded and steady.
Choosing what lasts.
We’re not a studio built around quick trends.
Chasing what’s “next” can feel like a full-time job, and it often pulls us away from what truly matters. At Long Lean, we focus on practices that support the body and the nervous system over time — Pilates designed for strength, clarity, and longevity.
That’s also why you’ll see more Mat Pilates on the schedule this year. The foundational work is where longevity begins — the source of strength, control, and awareness that sustains this practice over time.
What's new this year.
A few thoughtful updates as we move into the year ahead:
50-minute classes, giving us more space to build heat and depth
New instructors, all graduates of our recent teacher training program
They’re deeply trained, intentional, and a joy to grow alongside.
A New Membership Option.
For those with full schedules, we’ve added a 4-class monthly membership for $99 — supportive, sustainable, and effective.
It includes a free guest pass each month, milestone swag, and priority booking. Consistency doesn’t need to be extreme to be meaningful.
A Note for Our Members
If you ever need to switch class times, just send us a message on Instagram and we’ll take care of it for you. The switch just needs to be for the same day.

Community, on purpose.
Our first event of the year arrives in February — a partner Pilates class led by Silvia and Alyssa.
Come with a friend, roommate, or significant other and experience the work together. Follow us on Instagram for the official date.
Our next teacher training begins January 17, led by Jamie, and it’s nearly full.
Teaching doesn’t have to be the end goal. Many join to deepen their understanding of the method and build a more intuitive relationship with their body.
Until next month.
Thank you for being part of this space — for showing up, for moving with intention, and for choosing something built to last.
This year, we’re doing less of what’s loud and more of what’s meaningful.
I’m so glad you’re here.
